PHASE 05 · HOLD

Sustain and monitor

HOLD keeps the posture alive after the assessment or readiness sprint. We establish the recurring rhythm for evidence, affirmation, SPRS upkeep, monitoring, change control, and escalation so the organization does not treat compliance as finished work.

WHAT THIS PHASE ESTABLISHES

Keep the posture true after the project ends. HOLD turns annual affirmation, SPRS upkeep, monitoring, change control, incident response, evidence refresh, and recurring review into an operating rhythm.

THE BUYER PROBLEM
The firm has a posture to maintain but no named operating rhythm, evidence owner, change-control process, or recurring review mechanism.
WHO IT IS FOR

An SMB that has completed an accepted ASSESS or ORIENT baseline and needs ongoing posture management, annual affirmation support, SPRS upkeep, monitoring, or recurring readiness review.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

An operating rhythm with named owners: the monthly evidence cadence, the change-control log, and the affirmation and SPRS support pack that keeps the posture true between reviews.

LIMITS THAT APPLY HERE

No phase guarantees an outcome.

NO GUARANTEE
HOLD does not make the client compliant by subscription, guarantee a certification outcome, or remove the client's accountability for its systems, personnel, evidence, and decisions. No OORAH phase guarantees an award, a certification, an accounting approval, a safety certification, a legal outcome, revenue, or margin.
CURRENT CMMC POSTURE
CMMC Phase II (Level 2 and Level 3 third-party assessments) has been suspended since 2026-07-13 pending the Department of War reform review, and contracting officers were directed on 2026-09-03 to remove Phase II requirements from solicitations and contracts. Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments, baseline NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2 compliance, SPRS, and the DFARS 252.204-7012 safeguarding obligation remain in force. CMMC work is quoted only after the current-posture check.
